Did a bunch of spring cleaning today.  Still have lots to go...wow.  Its a lot of work.

I began working on a custom dolly for Justyn today.  Here are images of her at this moment in time :o)

Body all ready.  Just have to stuff the arms then make the head...and finally put it all together.

Her clothes are all ready when she is :o)  minus her sweater of course :o)

When this little gal is finished she is going on a huge adventure to Kenya.  I will post more about it all when she is done.  I intend to follow her travels :o)

Spring has definitely sprung!

Hey Guys,  I hope you all had a great Earth Day and were able to get outside for a bit.  It was gorgeous here in the Memphis area...perfect day for being outside.

We have seen the signs of spring for a few weeks now.  Not many deer lately, but that usually happens then one day they start showing up with oh too cute babies :o)  We were able to watch a fox in our front yard one day as it was trying to hunt one of the many squirrels around...do I even need to say how cool that was ? :o)

We had a really neat, extra special surprise yesterday though...perfect for Earth Day.

Every year a family of House Wrens comes to nest above the ceiling fan in our gazeebo out back.  We watch them come and go and even when the chicks hatch we listen to them chirp away when mom & dad return with food.  We have never been able to actually watch then fly around, my guess is that this was always due to our busy schedule, we simply missed it.

Well, yesterday morning we awoke to a sweet surprise...a fluffy feathered baby was sitting outside our kitchen window chirping away.  As we watched, we noticed that the whole family was out.  Their Earth Day celebration consisted of their first family outing...and we got to watch the whole thing :o)

Mom & Dad watched from perches in the trees and on the fence as their babies flew and fluttered about the yard, chirping and huddling together at different times.  Sometimes, they would huddle together and either mom or dad would swoop down for a quick feeding then pop off again.  They were so cute.  They look like puffy, fuzzy eggs with legs and wings :o)  They flew about actually hop-flying from tree to rail to shrub and back.  Their landings were hysterical.  They actually looked more like bumble bees flying around than birds.  In the morning, they were so bad at landing we watched more than one try to land only to fall a bit lower...on the ground...by the afternoon, they were getting it down pretty good and actually resembled birds flying :o)

Throughout the day you could hear them and see them.  Occasionally, it got quiet out there but that was when mama would start chirping until she heard a response from the chirping babes :o)  Too cute.

So, needless to say, I didn't get too much done yesterday, I spent as much time as I could admiring nature and this wonderful little family who coexist with us...it was a wonderful day :o)

Its turning out to be quite a full month already here.  I am finding it difficult to keep up  these days.  Spring always brings with it a lot of changes in our schedule and time.

I have several new things happening all at once.  New folks and new experiences...whew its all overwhelming :o)

I have not had many things to list these days because I have been working on customs as well as gifts.  I have been working on something nearly every day...its just all going to different places than the shop :o) We have had some birthdays lately of friends...On top of it all, Easter...I am currently working on a trio of fairies for my three younger kiddos...I will post some images of them as soon as I get the motivation to actually snap some pics and upload them :o)  They are not going to be like my other fairies, but the difference is good...They have no idea they are for them which will make a really sweet surprise :o)

So, when will I post something new?  Well, if all goes as planned, Monday morning and then throughout next week.  It will take me that long to just get the projects I am working on finished and get caught up.

I was hoping to get my sewing room all painted and organized (I am not a organization guru...so its scary) during this time...but that does not look like that is going to happen.  Maybe I can get my two oldest to paint...but then I think about the nightmare that was their last foray into painting rooms :o)

Ya see, lots going on.  I think I need another vacation :o)

I thought I would fill ya all in, just to let you know I have not fallen off the face of the earth, just been buried a bit :o)

I'll post images as soon as I can.

Peace,
Nancy

I know I have been falling behind on posting lately...I am sorry.  Things tend to get really busy around here.  I promise to be better at this from here on.

I am still working on the giveaway dolly, I have a few custom things to wrap up and some birthday things but hopefully, I am crossing my fingers here, I should have something more detailed to post by the end of the week :o)

That's it for now, I will keep this updated more regularly...promise :o)

We're back!

Well, it was an awesome trip.  The weather held out for us and made for a great time.  These are a few images of the trip.  We went to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas.

For more go and check out my Flikr page...if you haven't had enough here :o)

Cedar Falls

There were mini falls all over the place on our way down into the canyon
Digger and Brandy loved being with us...even in the wilderness, they are giant floor pillows :o)
This is a view of the overlook over at the gravesite of Petit Jean.  Very pretty.

I am still trying to get my bearings so give me a bit.  I am hoping to get all caught up and ready to go by this weekend.  I'll keep you posted.
