Last Shop Day for 2009

Well, its been a crazy year for the shop. Hectic and amazing. I have to say its pretty cool that my little creations have caused such a buzz...yay!

I am closing up the shop today once the last little guy is picked up. I'll reopen it on January 2nd and I'll have to hit the ground running. My custom orders are sold out for the months of January and February...already :o)

Looks like next year is going to be quite busy :o)

*********************************************************************

I didn't post pics yesterday of our day at the Memphis Zoo...or as we all jokingly have come to call it..."ttttthe annnuuual ddday at the zzzzzooooo" as we all shiver from the cold :o)

Our oldest was a Christmas baby and she is an animal fanatic...as well as an amazing artist :o)...so every year, when asked what she would like to do with the family for her birthday ever since she could talk her answer would always be..."The Zoo!" So every year in freezing cold weather (what could arguably always be one of the coldest days of the year) we are all at the zoo walking around, the upside, its always empty on that day...wonder why :o)...so it seems like the place was opened just for us :o)

The birthday girl herself in front of the wolf enclosure...sketch book in hand

A rare moment when Rory was with dad...she's usually glued to me :o) but dad has strong shoulders to carry her on :o)

The wolves are a new addition to the zoo this year

All in all, it was cold...of course, but I honestly wouldn't have wanted to spend the day doing anything else :o)

Dec 15th

Whew! Its been real busy around here. I have been feverishly working 7 days a week for the past 2 months...that's a lot of dolls :o)

I am finally coming to the end for this year though...a few more orders to go :o) January is already pretty full now so we are stating on February. Busy, busy, busy...

Today is a huge day...My oldest is 15 today :o( My sweet baby is almost all grown up (I say this and she is already taller than I am) To celebrate, she and I are going out this morning for "coffee" then we will all go to the Memphis Zoo to see the new exhibits (she loves wolves) She wants to round out the day with pizza and a movie while hanging out with us :o)

Happy Birthday Baby!

Happy Day of Peace and Harmony! :o)

Today is technically my b-day but I have decided instead to celebrate it as our "Annual Day of Peace and Harmony" :o)

It has started out well...the older folks are all being kind and peaceful with one another. The younger ones are doing their best to test it all :o)

As for me, I will be spending the day enjoying all the peacefulness...and harmoniousness :o) with lots os snuggles and hugs :o) I am off to enjoy a cup of coffee with my awesome hubby who made me the absolute best card I have ever received :o)

I hope you all have a wonderful day of peace and harmony too :o)

Sage...

Sage...

Could she be any cuter? :o) Sage here is number two of the faerie crowd :o)

Fortunately for Sage, she is going to a home she will share with Amber.

The faeries have my imagination whirling...I am working on a winter faerie and of course there will be a rainbow faerie and lots of different flower faeries...Yes, I am having fun...

Anyway, I had to share her with you all.

Have a great day :o)

Amber...

I am so happy with how this little girl turned out :o)

This is Amber. She's a little autumn faerie...

Her wings are brocade fabric and sewn onto her back. Her dress is made from several individual autumn colored leaf shapes sewn together to make the skirt.

She is exactly how I saw her in my mind...Her sister faerie who is green will be ready by Friday...

Happy December!

This is the BEST month of the year!

Lots of great things going on...Christmas and New Year's are just two of them :o)

My oldest is turning 15 this month in a few days (on the 15th)
On the 6th we will be celebrating the "Annual day of Peace and Harmony". A small note...I stopped celebrating my own B-days and have now changed it to the "Annual Day of Peace and Harmony" Its the one day a year when everyone in the house gets along peacefully and only displays love and patience for one another :o) OK, yeah there is some faking going on but hey...with teens to littles around here...peace is peace :o)

I am seriously looking forward to lots of cookies and crafts around here :o)

******************************************************

Seeing as how December is such an awesome month, I have decided that the giveaway should be equally cool...at least close :o) So here goes...

Update first week of November...

Thought I would put up an update of how things look as of this morning :o) This is literally how they all look at the moment. Its not the best image, but its not bad for having been taking in my sewing room with minimal lighting...not to mention my horrible photography skills :o) It will at least give you all an idea of where we are.

Isabel, your gal needs her hair trimmed and her sweater knit (almost done).

Liz, Your two gals need their hair :o) I have their first set of clothes done...images are below. They still need their second ensembles and sweaters.

Meg, your trio are as cute as can be. I need to finish up the clothing and put the white patch in our little PJ guy's hair.

Charlene, well, he needs clothes...did you want freckles too?

Denise, he too needs his clothes :o) and a trim of his hair

Liz, here is the first image, sorry about the horrible coloring. I thought it would at least give you an idea as to the style :o)

Isabel, Here are your two outfits. Let me know your thoughts.

OK guys, I need names for these cuties so think them over and get back with me please :o)

I will be working on them today. Hopefully I will get most of the final things done and at least a sweater or two :o)

I am also working on two more shop dolls for this week as well as my cutie for the November giveaway. She should be ready to go by Monday morning :o) I have a 12 inch and a 16 inch coming out in the shop in the next couple of days :o)

That's it for now...

Peace.

Monday Oct 26

I have a lot of ground to cover today so here goes...

First off...I am showing off the latest creation from my awesomely talented daughter Brenna. She made this felt playscape completely out of wool. I am so proud :o) Its listed for sale her in shop on Etsy called Pandemonium Creations Drop by and check more images :o)

These are the final images of your girls Jennie. They are going out today.

Your baby has a mix of color and yarn. She has brown with nutmeg highlights and some light sandy blonde as well. Any idea as to her name?

Your Elora Danan is wonderful. I went outside to get some good images of her for you. Her hair is gorgeous...nice choice on the yarn.

Now, things are getting busy around here. I have lots of customs to fill so there is going to be some changes in the blog for a while. I will try to get a page of the beginnings set up to click on so that you all can see how they begin but I will not be able to take and post individual images of each doll...at least not for the next month :o) It takes time away from actually creating these cuties :o)

My computer time will be early in the morning and at night...to give me time to do the many other things we do around here daily :o)

Each week, I will post a list of the dolls I will be working on that week. I will try to post images, but I cannot say for sure I will even have the time. I will definitely have images of them when they are done :o)

This week I will be working on these dolls...

Aisha
Lissa
Jenn

I will also be posting these dolls during the week...

Blue Mermaid
Purple Mermaid
16 inch Weighted Baby Boy
16 inch Boy

Some of these are near completion while others have not yet been started so they will be posted as each day goes by. I expect to have the mermaids listed as well as the 16 baby tomorrow.

With all of that, I am off to work :o) Have a great day and drop by my daughter's shop :o)

Peace

Jennie's Girl

So I waited most of the day for the rain to stop but then it hasn't...I decided to take a few images of her this way to see if it will work out...the results, while not stellar, will work. At least you can get an idea as to how cute she is :o)

I promise better images tomorrow. I am working on her sweater today as well as the baby's body. I will have more images tomorrow for you.

Progress...

Here are the two sisters for Kettlebelles :o) they are so cute together...

Jennie, this is the ensemble I came up with. I went with the purple/orange/pink top because I thought it might be good to introduce some other colors into the mix :o) I can still change it out to the all purple top if you want...

These are the beginning stages of your doll...

As of right now, this is what she looks like. I hope to get her face sen on today and at least start her hair. More images tomorrow...

Monday, October 19, 2009

Monday Oct 19

Amandine's little girl is done and ready to go home.

I love the hair and her face turned out so sweet.

I will be wrapping up work on Kettlebell's order today...all ready except their hair :o) For now, I have an image of their outfits :o)

In light of the fact that things are quite busy around here, I will be altering how I post images of the cuties I am working on. I will chronicle the making of my next custom order for Jennie step by step and then creating a permanent link to that page on my blog. That way I will be able to free up the time it usually takes to post individual images of each order. I will still post images of the customs but they will start when their faces are sewn on. It will save me a lot of time :o)

Jennie, I will be starting your girls later this afternoon :o) I cannot wait ti use that hair :o)
